I. Introduction: Give information regarding the topic in your own words. DO NOT COPY. Discuss variables.
II. Purpose: Give the goals of the lab. State the HYPOTHESIS(ES). This should be in the form of a prediction of the outcome of lab result. EXPLAIN the hypothesis. I.E., give a cause and effect relationship.
III. Materials: List and number the materials you actually use. Do not copy from the pre-lab.
IV. Procedure: List and number the steps actually taken.
V. Data: Place all data here. Do not place at the end of the report. Data includes tables, graphs, calculations, observations, etc.
VI. Questions: Write and answer any lab questions here.
VII. Discussion: Discuss data. Remember, data means numbers. Include averages (mean), % deviation, standard deviation, and any other important numbers.
VIII. Conclusion: State whether the purpose(s) was accomplished. Include how and why. State if the hypothesis was proven true or false. Explain how and why or why not. Give sources of error. Suggest improvements. Suggest practical applications.
